Can extreme cold weather make someone sick or kill someone and does it trigger asthma?

Inhaling cold air can trigger bronchospasm in many asthmatics. People can freeze to death. Cold weather by itself does not cause illness in most, but if people go inside & are closer together they share more respiratory germs.
