This depends on lots of details you don't mention. Genital or oral? Which virus type, HSV1 or HSV2? Does she have a newly acquired infection, or discovered to have a longstanding one? What symptoms does she have? Are you likely the source of her infection or just exposed? Best not try to sort this out online on this or any other forum: see a doctor or clinic with lots of experience with herpes.
