A member asked:

If my normal rectal temp runs around 99.4f, could the lead up to my period cause it to increase to 99.6f?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

There is a normal variation in body temperature that usually reflects changes in basal metabolism, whatever the cause. In people with a usual day/night sleep pattern it nears its lowest point in the early morning before waking. It is usually near its high point in mid afternoon. I don't consider the listed variation of any significance.
