I would strongly advise you to make sure your sleep apnea is uder control (CPAP or other methods). Sleep apnea is a very serious condition and can affect many aspects of your health, including getting a good night's sleep. If the sleep apnea is controlled, you may not need dietary supplements to get to sleep.

See no risk in taking melatonin if you use a C-PAP device, or a dental splint designed for sleep apnea. Prescription sleeping pills, sedatives, tranquilizers, and narcotics could potentially affect breathing while asleep and should be fully evaluated by your doctor prior to use. Safety is imperative.
