Ovulation testing measures LH surge, which is very short, so a follow up test might show a less intense indicator line, based on the rapid decrease of available LH from the pre-ovulatory peak. This of course does not guarantee pregnancy, but only the opportunity for pregnancy , which is based on a number of other factors.
