A member asked:

Is it possible in any way to get a positive pregnancy test less than 48 hours after intercourse? or was the positive from an earlier encounter?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

To make the hormones needed to turn a test positive, the sperm must combine with the egg ( takes 2-4 days) move to the womb and attach ( 2-3 days) and begin making the hormones (few days). A positive test 48 hours after an encounter would be from a prior exposure.
