A member asked:

If a person has had covid, are they less likely to contract and transmit it after they've fully recovered? if so, for how long?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

5 to 8 days is the usual time of positive testing after covid infection. Rare cases test positive for weeks, but the particles in their nose or throat are not considered to be contagious after 10 days or 3 days after all symptoms have resolved.
