Hello. The active traumatic hair removal can cause the expected swelling and reactive changes. This can cause a cellulitis of the scalp as well. As recommended, ice to the area can help as can ibuprofen. Family counseling sounds like a good idea as well. If the scalp doesn’t improve with this conservative treatment, see your Primary Care or Dermatologist.
