What is the puss on tonsils when you have a sore throat? why does it do that?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Puss is a result of acute inflammation and usually consists of death white blood cells/neutrophils, and coagulated blood proteins. If you have puss on your tonsils, get tested for Strep throat. If you have Strep throat, it would need to be treated with prescription antibiotics. For info: https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/strep-throat/symptoms-causes/syc-20350338
