A member asked:

Is there any research to say how much immunity you have after two doses of pfizer vaccine and then a breakthrough infection? does this still warrant a booster? does the breakthrough infection act as the booster?

Clearly, you are asking very pertinent questions, and depending upon which "experts" you ask, you will receive different answers. Even the immunity acquired from natural infection has been questioned, with some studies suggesting better immunity with vaccines. Claim is that booster updates value of vaccine. Sorry, the whole field has become political and ambiguous data is yet to be clarified.

We don't measure antibody levels after vaccine as there's no known protective level. Certainly if you are fully vaccinated with two doses, a breakthrough infection with SARS-COV2 would boost the immunity, but we don't know to what degree. Better than not receiving a booster at all, but I recommend the booster.

Not as well as a booster. Get a booster dose to optimize your protection.
