A member asked:

Why do i have yeast and bv at the same time? causes of it? are the fungal and bacteria supposed to balance each other?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

They can both be the result of a disruption of the normal bacterial population of the vagina (for instance from antibiotics). The bacteria of BV and yeast are often present in small numbers but can't compete with the usual vaginal bacteria (largely lactobacilli) and so are not symptomatic.
