Babies need to regulate their fluids in the first 24-48 hours of life. They generally have a good urine output during that time, and should pass a poop that is dark and sticky called meconium in the first few days. One pee is concerning as dehydration could be a concern.

The first day or two, the baby will lose excess fluid and may not take much in. By the third day, with consistent offering of the breast every 2-3 hours, the baby's intake will increase and the stool frequency will also increase. Best wishes and congratulations!
