A member asked:

Is 10 days post exposure enough to detect chlamydia and gonorrhea with vaginal swab? would this be conclusive? thank you?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

A vaginal swab alone is not an adequate way to test for chlamydia and gonorrhea. Usually cervical, urethral swabs and urine are test for both by nucleic acid tests. It would be prudent to consult with your doctor. Testing site needs to adjusted for vaginal, oral or anal sex. for info: https://myhealth.alberta.ca/Health/aftercareinformation/pages/conditions.aspx?hwid=abk8848
