A member asked:

I had a full blood panel done and wondering if someone can explain. this is for creatinine. in 2014 it was 0.94, in 2017 it was 0.77. in 2020 it was 1.01, and now its 1.10 (in standard range) what could this mean? is this cause for concern?

The laboratory should have reported your estimated glomerular filtration, based on your creatinine, age, gender and race. If the value is less than 90, it may be a cause for concern. Visit this site for info: https://www.kidney.org/atoz/content/gfr

Creatinine is a breakdown product from muscle and protein metabolism. Serum creatinine is an important indicator of kidney health. If there is any concern, which does not seem in your case Creatinine clearance can be easily calculated by measuring creatinine in urine. It is great to see that you get annual physical and keep a watchful eye on it. I hope it reassures you .
