I was prescribed medroxyprogesterone & famotidine today. does the famotidine help with bloating? it just says stomach pain however i have bloating. and how soon do these take effect? ive only taken one pill, so im just curious? thanks?

Each pill takes an hour to work. Bloating or the Spence or the sense of bloating can remit on famotidine (Pepcid). Give it time tio work and keep in touch with your doctor if symptoms don’t subside.

Famotidine's effect is not immediate, it often takes three days for the peak effect. If you have heartburn or bloating due to high acid in gastric content, antacid solution can neutralize that quickly after taking but famotidine has to exert its effect on the stomach glands for lowering the acid production and that takes time. Dyspepsia may manifest as bloating but gases may manifest the same.
