A member asked:

Would stomach massage help duodenal or peptic ulcer pain? what i have could be an ulcer, but the upper abdominal pain is repeatedly helped by massage (you can hear gas movement and bubbles during it) so i am wondering if that would rule out an ulcer?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

If you suffer epigastric pain, constant or episodic, contact your physician. A gastroenterologist may well be needed to confirm or rule out this diagnosis. Response to massage is essentially meaningless, and does not exclude an ulcer.
