I keep getting upper respiratory infections and i had one a few weeks ago. my voice is all messed up now. this is new never happened before its weird?

Your vocal cords may have been affected by the upper respiratory virus you had or they could have been significantly irritated or inflamed by persistent harsh coughing. I doubt you have an active infection now. At this time prevent further irritation of the vocal cords by resting your voice and taking a suppressant cough syrup to prevent harsh dry cough. In time you normal voice will return.
