IgG is a later phase immunoglobulin that increases its presence in the months after an immune challenge and lasting years/decades. IgM is the earlier immunoglobulin appearing within the first weeks and fading after months.

No. IgG antibody just means that you had the infection some time ago, you have been weeks, months or years. HSV remains in the body of the person who gets infected at any age. Most of the time is just causes cold sores once in a while but has little effect on health. Get HPV, Flu and Covid vaccinations.
