Most likely yes: You take a calcium carbonate based antacid like tums, you get safe heartburn relief with the added bonus of calcium. When you’re pregnant you may need between 1, 000mg and 1, 300mg of elemental calcium per day. Good luck.

Yes: Tums is typically what i tell pregnant women with heartburn to start with, as it also gets you extra calcium, which is good in pregnancy unless you are at risk for kidney stones. If that doesn't help, many patients find relief with over the counter pepcid (famotidine).
