Typically, when a woman misses 1-2 pills, their protection wanes and needs to be reset. Use an alternative form of birth control in addition to your pill for 10 days or until you have your period. It is possible to get pregnant if you do not use an alternative form of birth control.

Losing one pill and missing a day does not eliminate your protection but back up birth control is still a good precaution. Meanwhile, to get back on track most effectively take another pill today (the Wednesday pill) and then continue taking the next day's pill to the end of the pack. You can then start your next pack normally but you will be a day ahead of your original schedule.
