There are several options and generally rejection of the IUD is not very common. ParaGard is a non-hormonal IUD which is an excellent long-term contraceptive device. Others such as Nexplanon or Mirena are hormones (progestins) containing IUDs…So you may want to discuss with your gynecologist about trying oral progestins first to see if you tolerate that substance.
