The first thing would be to make sure you don’t have a urinary tract infection. Other symptoms besides the strong smell would be burning with urination, urinating more frequently and feeling strong urges to urinate. Another possibility would be a vaginal infection. So, you should see your doctor to get examined and tested-a clean catch urine sample can be sent to the lab to see if there is a UTI.

Occasionally some drops of urine can drip into the vaginal area and be the cause of your complaints. Clean yourself well after voiding. Strong smelling urine does NOT necessarily mean urinary infection. Many things like garlic, onion, asparagus and spices are the usual causes. Drink plenty of water and keep the vaginal area clean and you should be OK
