A member asked:

At 23 weeks of pregnancy i found out that my cervix is 3cm long, my doc said it's fine for now but i'm kind of worried. shouldn't i be on cervical surveillance for the next few weeks? and can i be sexually active at this point?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

A 3 cm long cervix is normal as advised by your doctor. Sex during a healthy pregnancy is safe. You may wish to check with your doctor that you do not have a low lying placenta. Do see your doctor at intervals recommended by her/him. Wish you good health and a healthy baby!
