Assuming the surgical abortion did not include tubal ligation (i.e. tying off your Fallopian tubes), it should have had no effect on fertility. Check with the doctor or clinic where your abortion was done. Otherwise, formal fertility evaluation is recommended after a year with regular unprotected mid-cycle sex without conception. It isn't possible to otherwise predict the reason. Good luck.
