Papsmear results show, isolated asc-us, reactive glandular cells noted. limited by obscuring thick areas. what does this mean? it does not seem normal but is this bad?

"ASCUS" is an acronym for "abnormal squamous cells of uncertain significance", and can be an early sign of some strains of human papilloma virus "HPV". A repeat pap smear and/or colposcopy may be requested by your physician, but it does not mean a malignancy is present.

This is a common result, but it's not normal. Usually with this result, the lab will perform a test for HPV as well. Was that done? In any case, at age 24, the usual next step is to repeat the pap in a year. Reactive glandular cells may have been caused by some type of vaginal infection, you may want to look into getting that checked out before you repeat the pap.
