This feeling is called “globus” sensation and could be caused in multiple problems ranging from infection like oral thrush, reflux, diverticulum, tumors or even external compression from abnormality in nearby structures like thyroid. Because of the location of the sensation in your throat, you'll need to see a physician who has the capability to look at that area. The specialty that has that capability are Ear, Nose and Throat specialists who have both mirrors and flexible scopes to allow them the best view of what might be happening. This is a common complaint in patients who suffer with reflux among the others mentioned.
