May not. As alternative to doxycycline, Azithromycin or fluoroquinolones, e.g., Ofloxacin and levofloxacin, is currently recommended.

Yes. Minocycline is equally effective against chlamydia as doxycycline -- in fact is the recommended treatment in some countries.
