Is it safe to put foods directly on microwave turntable without putting the food in a separate plate? (for example potatoes?

Probably. However, it is better to always put food on a plate when in a microwave and then clean the microwave periodically. Otherwise the turntable will get messy, and any food residue can be a place for bacteria to grow

Yes As long as the surface is clean. Also microwaving will kill most germs
