Like many other viral infections you can always develop a secondary bacterial infection during or after its initial course. I would schedule a re-visit to sort this out.

If you have a persistent fever, I agree that another cause may be present. Post COVID though a number of complications may occur and adult cases of MIS C have been reported. A blood test including white cell count and inflammatory markers may be indicated.
