A member asked:

I've taken 2 bactrim pills out of 14 and currently fine. does the risk of stevens johnson happen every time i take one of the pills, or does it normally manifest quickly? and can it happen after the treatment?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Steven Johnson Synd is a rare reaction to bactrim and yes, the risk persists for about 4-6 weeks after therapy. But is very rare. If this still worries you, discuss other antibiotic options with whomever prescribed the bactrim to you.
