Studies have shown that your taking a single dose of valtrex rather than acyclovir would reduce your transmission of hsv to your partner by 50%, and his taking it may lower his risk of getting hsv infection. A specialist in infectious diseas or, sexual health or the public health department can advise you best about what to do.
