I suggest you try a non-sedating anti-histamine, such as Zyrtec (Cetirizine), and see if you have less drowsiness, with the same effect..,

Claritin is supposed to be a nondrowsy antihistamine but some people do have issues. You can try Allegra (approved by FAA for pilots) or possibly Zyrtec or Xyzal, or use Flonase or Nasonex nasal spray if nose symptoms are your main problem. If you only need something @ night you could use chlortrimeton or diphenhydramine which should be out of your system by morning
