Narcissists are self focused & it is easy for them to be threatened when the focus is turned to others. Self focus is often accompanied by pride & pride when threatened leads to fear which leads to insecurity which often leads to anger. It is hard when anger is directed @ you, but seek not to take it personally & seek to be kind & make peace when possible & the rest is up to them.

A true Narcissist is not susceptible to being easily hurt, more likely to bruise your ego.
