A 36-year-old female asked:

I've been having pinching pains in my abdomen for about a week now, bloating.and feel pain in my back as well. the pinching travels around,but is mostly located below my breast bone , and feels worse when sitting or leaning forward.can this be gerd?

Upper abdominal pain with associated back pain can be caused by gall bladder or pancreatic pathology. You also mention bloating probably caused by gas buildup. Leaning forward compresses the bloated stomach or intestine and could cause associated back discomfort as well. The symptoms don't suggest gerd to me. Since symptoms have been going on for a week I recommend getting examined by an MD.
