A member asked:

Would/could a person even realize or question if they had a petit mal seizure after it happened or no?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

It is not unusual at all to experience a complex focal seizure and have no awareness or memory of the episodes. Petit mal epilepsy typically ends in adolescence, but other seizure types may commence in late teen years or early 20's. If there are lapses in awareness or others have noted lack of response, epilepsy should be considered.
