A member asked:

For vaccines, especially covid vacccine,. does it mean you need to get infected first and then your antibodies quickly neutralizes it before you get sick or are able to spread? is that how it works? if so, does antibodies raise higher from it future?

The immune system is far too complex to even summarize herein. Suffice it to say, you should get vaccinated and then your body is equipped to deal with the viral assault. A more comprehensive discussion could be experienced on the paid portion of HT via a virtual consult. Feel free to schedule, as this might answer your questions.

It takes 7-10 days to form antibodies after first exposure. On getting a booster dose the body responds in a day or two. Getting vaccinated after natural Covid infection produces the highest amounts of antibody.
