Vaccines target specific diseases & differ with each. You most likely had polio vaccines as a kid in the US and are not considered at risk. For covid, you need the vaccine if you want to be protected. Recent data cite the risk of ICU level care for fully vaccinated breakthrough covid cases is 1/28,000.
