A member asked:

Will keeping your eyes open while steam inhalation damage the eyes?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Possibly. When hot steam hits the eye surface it could cause a burn. However, soon after steam is produced it often looses its heat and just retains its fog/mist status. If it has lost enough of its original heat it will not injure a person.
