CT scan, EGD: Ct scan will be much better than sonogram to evaluate what is wrong here in this case. Having said that, ultimately, an upper endoscopy may be needed to directly visualize the upper GI tract to evaluate if there is stomach ulcer etc. Discuss with your doctor in detail.
