Ercp report: cbd stone extracted, cbd cleared. occlusion cholangiogram - clear cbd. my question is, in a cbd that is already unblocked and clear with the stone fully removed, will a cbd stent be required?

Normally gall bladder common bile duct remains open by itself and does not require stent unless something needs drainage like pus or blood. Also your doctor is the best person to decide. It looks like you are fine since gall stones are not there. Hope it helps.

My cousin, 54, had ERCP to remove gallstones from his bile duct. After the removal of stone, occlusion cholangiogram stated that the CBD is now clear. Just want to know on his behalf, will this now put him at an increased risk of biliary stricture?
