A member asked:

Is a 3t mri truly better than a 1.5t mri? if so would you recommend it for an mri of the pituitary gland? what are the main differences?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Resolution of a 3T scan is far better than a 1.5T, and more precise and varied pathology can be revealed, but any sizable lesion can be found with either. Discuss with your doctor and a consulting radiologist as to whether more focused imaging may be of value.
