What would happen if a ob/gyn gives you a birth control shot (depo) while you are pregnant, will this hurt the baby? what are the effects ? will the baby be okay? can u hear a babys heart beat in the 1st month ?

OB/Gyn Dr's typically require first time Depo shot recipients to have a negative pregnancy test at the office prior to receiving the shot. Subsequent shots given at the correct times (every 3 months) assume that the Depo injection completely prevents pregnancy, and therefore are given to non pregnant persons. If it has been more than 3 months, your Dr will retest you for pregnancy.
