A member asked:

Is daily weight lifting (an hour per day) good for cardiac health?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

You build power/strength in the muscles that you are focusing on during weightlifting. This has many health benefits. However, the heart benefits more from cardio which tends to build muscular endurance. If you care about the total package, you would be better served by a well rounded program of both cardio and weightlifting. Make sure to incorporate 1 or 2 days of rest as well.
