A member asked:

Can having a heart murmur as a child cause a low(45-55usually) resting heart rate, and should i be worried about the low resting rate(not a very active lifestyle)?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Most murmurs of childhood that do not lead to surgery are innocent/transient issues of little importance. I would no assume any connection with a low resting heart rate at your age. I would have a proper history & physical done along with testing to make sure this is not a worrisome problem.
