Nexplanon contains a synthetic form of progesterone, and acts as a contraceptive by affecting implantation, so even if one is ovulating on Nexplanon, and fertilization occurs, the fertilized egg will not "attach' ("implant") and pregnancy will not occur. Many on Nexplanon implants do not have ovulatory cycles, but ovulation will produce a "clear, jelly like discharge", which is normal.
