A member asked:

Sudden loss of muscle control causing collapse, while still conscious ,usually when emotional and only lasts a few minutes no after effects?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

This is a manifestation of a condition called cataplexy which can start at any age, but on close questioning it is often noted that patients may have had very mild signs of it for years. I recommend consulting a neurologist with a special interest in diagnosing &treating cataplexy & narcoplexy. You may find one in a department of neurology at a university hospital near you.
