If you have been on the pill for months and remember to take it as prescribed you have little chance of pregnancy. The pill works generally by preventing egg release, no egg =no pregnancy, no matter when in your cycle you have sex. Missing pills increases pregnancy risk. BC pills have a cited failure rate of ~1-5%/yr of use.
