Need more info: Narcolepsy is a condition where wake and sleep states get mixed up. This leads to disrupted nocturnal sleep and intrusion of sleep during daytime leading to excessive daytime sleepiness. Cataplexy is phenomenon where certain muscles of the body become very weak. This is a state seen in rem sleep and ca intrude into wake state. Not all narcoleptics have cataplexy.
