I have been on atenolol 25mg for 5 days for high blood pressure due to anxiety. side effects are not favorable. i feel that with a change of lifestyle i should be able to keep my anxiety and bp in check. will i need to wean myself off it?

This question can be answered by the doctor which gave you the medication. I would not accept an answer to this concern via the internet. In most cases, (this is not a recommendation for you) after 5 days Atenolol does not need to be weaned off.
