I'm thinking of getting the copper iud. is there any risk of copper toxicity? do i need to take zinc supplements to balance my body's copper? do i have a higher risk of getting anemia due to the possible extra bleeding? (i was anemic in my teens.?

There is no risk of copper toxicity and if you are eating a usual mixed diet you do not need to take zinc supplementation. Since menstruating women often have iron deficiency, it would be helpful to take oral iron supplement to prevent anemia, given your history. Have safe sex. Get HPV and Covid vaccines
